传统土耳其镀金工艺 (Tezhip) 工作坊

镀金工艺的主要功能是装饰文字，并为文字增添装饰，在装饰过程中经常使用风格化的动物、植物和云纹图案及形象作为装饰元素。尽管品味和流派各有不同，但每个时期都展示了金色与深蓝色的和谐美感。

《古兰经》、祈祷书以及其他手稿是在土耳其装饰艺术中占有重要地位，并且通常与书法密不可分的土耳其镀金艺术的主要运用对象。

镀金工艺中的基本材料是金或颜料。金需要锻打成很薄的薄片以用作箔纸。金箔会在水中被研磨成粉末，并与明胶按一定比例混合，所选颜料通常为赭色颜料。如今也会使用合成染料。镀金工艺的艺术家会先将其画好的图案置于硬质的黄杨木或锌基板上，用针在图案线上打点穿孔。随后，将穿孔的纸放在要进行装饰的表面上，用一种带有粘性的黑色粉末填充孔洞。当移开穿孔纸时，图案便会显现在目标表面上。这些图案经过清晰勾勒后用金或颜料填充，最终形成一幅镀金艺术作品。
