将Ebru定义为一种美术形式是不充分的。Ebru的主要材料是水和土。水作为画布是必需的，土作为着色是必需的。当大地的颜色与水相遇时，奇迹便发生了。生命的两种基本物质——水和土，为我们呈现了微观和宏观宇宙的场景，只有通过望远镜、显微镜或卫星才能见证。
