エブルを美術の一形態として定義することは不十分です。エブルの主な材料は水と土です。水はキャンバスとして必要であり、土は着色のために必要です。土の色が水と出会うと、奇跡が起こります。水と土という生命の2つの基本的な物質は、望遠鏡、顕微鏡、または衛星を通してのみ目撃できるミクロおよびマクロ宇宙のシーンを私たちに見せてくれます。
